SUN SISTER INTERVIEW

Who are Sun Sister & how did it all come about?

Sun Sister is Stacy, Greg, Tellier, and Danger. We all met at parties in and around Fitchburg. We spent a lot of time hanging in the summer and the band just happened. It was a lot of late night stuff, after last call theres not much to do. And some of it got recorded.

The bands name seems to work wonderfully with your sound, where did it arise from?

Over the summer we were all at a festival our friend Mike throws at his farm in western mass, called Howling Moon. It was the last day, and we were all sitting in the sun, agreeing that we all felt like siblings.

You also have a track called “Growing Your Hair Out” which we’ve become quite attached to. So much so we’ve actually taken on the advice,is there something more behind the song?

Essentially it’s about a friend, who happens to be a junkie, who’s hair grew out from happenstance.

How would you describe your sound in an adjective filled sentence?

It’s like vibe, flow, and feel meet in a basement and get high.

“Sex,drugs, and Rock n Roll” has long been a cliche within music, what three words would you use to describe your music career so far?

Tequila, Blood, Soul.

Are there any new bands that are inspiring you at the moment,or any that have been the soundtrack to your days as a growing musician?

Blood orange we’ve been listening to a lot lately. That stuff is mad vibey and sounds like Prince on harder drugs. And Run D.M.T makes us wanna party.

We first discovered your music with the Rich American White Kidz EP,have you got anything else up your sleeve music wise?

We have a cassette tape due out in Spring thanks to Tye Die tapes. They can be found at Rough Trade in London, or online at their Big Cartel. Other than that we’re jamming on some new ideas live.

You’ve also just put out your first video, how was that?

Our pal Kris Cormier did an amazing job. For years he has made awesome skate videos, and he has begun to branch out. He was great to work with and had lots of great ideas. He’s like-minded and shares our visions.

Are there any live shows coming up?

We have three shows coming up. The first is in our hometown Fitchburg on Feb 18th and should be a blast. Then March 4th is in Cambridge at the Middle-east club and on March 31st we are in Boston again at P.a.’s Lounge.

Finally, if you could create anything, for personal or worldwide benefit, what would it be and why?

A drink called a woozy floozy. 3 parts vodka 1 part Blonde. Let the good times roll.
