  • JELA

    A film by Will Robson-Scott

“This film follows Jela, brought up in the heart of the East End of London in a Turkish and English family. He talks about his memories of growing up in the 80s and 90s and his time on the streets and on football terraces. Jela grew up fast, being immersed in football violence, skinhead culture, and hard drug use before his life spiraled out of control, now sober he looks to the future.

The East End he grew up in has changed on the surface but many of the faces he grew up with remain the same. His struggles have made him what he is today and Jela is East London through and through.”

  • MADE BY HAND

“Made by Hand is a new short film series celebrating the people who make things by hand—sustainably, locally, and with a love for their craft.

Our fifth film turns to bike maker Ezra Caldwell (Fast Boy Cycles), who was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. When the cancer threatens to shatter his love of bikes, Ezra survives by documenting his illness as thoroughly as his craft.”

  • LONG LIVE THE KINGS

“Long Live The Kings is a film and photographic project shot exclusively on film. Here is the short documentary shot on super 16mm relating the hopes and desires of those who go for a motorcycle road trip.”

  • BY THE LAKE

“Phipps lives in a fisherman’s shack in Tasmania that his family’s owned all his life.

His front garden is a giant lake, brimming with 9lb trout; his neighbours are wedge-tailed eagles and possums and tiger snakes. This is a day in Phipps’ beautiful, quiet world.”

  • LONDON IN 1927

“Incredible colour footage of 1920s London shot by an early British pioneer of film named Claude Friese-Greene, who made a series of travelogues using the colour process his father William – a noted cinematographer – was experimenting with. It’s like a beautifully dusty old postcard you’d find in a junk store, but moving.

Music by Jonquil and Yann Tiersen.”

  • THE INNOVATOR

    The Innovator

“Mike Friton is a freelance shoemaker, weaver, paper sculptor and innovator with over 30 years of experience at Nike. His innovations are responsible for many elements of athletic footwear that people wear today. Each of his crafts informs one another and he is constantly exploring the fringes of his field. Mike’s work is a great example of how non-traditional methods of exploring one’s craft can lead to unique end results.”

    Directed by Tristan Stoch
